Meet Shannan Labrador
Shannan Labrador is a homeschool coach, speaker, mentor, wife, mom, and Mee-Maw who has spent more than 15 years homeschooling her own children. She understands firsthand that homeschooling is about so much more than choosing a curriculum or checking off academic boxes. It is about raising whole people—building confidence, character, faith, independence, curiosity, and a love for learning while navigating the very real challenges of doing it all at home.
After more than 15 years in the homeschool trenches, Shannan knows the beauty and the hard parts. She knows what it feels like to wonder if you're doing enough, to question your choices, to navigate different personalities and learning styles, and to try to balance being a mom, teacher, wife, and everything else life requires. Her goal is not to create a picture-perfect homeschool. It's to help moms build a homeschool that actually works for their family.
As a homeschool coach, Shannan brings a practical, relational approach to helping parents find confidence in their homeschooling journey. She encourages moms to stop comparing their homeschool to everyone else's, identify what works for their unique children, and create an educational experience that makes room for academics, faith, relationships, life skills, creativity, and the individual gifts God has placed in each child.
Shannan is also a passionate speaker and mentor who has spent more than 30 years teaching, mentoring, speaking, and serving in ministry. She is the co-founder of 24/7 Marriage, a faith-based ministry she leads with her husband, Javier, where they help couples build stronger, healthier, God-centered marriages.
That experience has shaped much of what Shannan brings to homeschool families: the belief that education isn't just about what our children know—it is about who they are becoming.
Shannan especially loves speaking to homeschool moms and students about the things that matter beyond academics: confidence, character, communication, relationships, identity, leadership, faith, purpose, and preparing young people for real life.
Her teaching style is real, practical, conversational, and sometimes a little funny. She doesn't pretend to have all the answers, and she certainly doesn't believe homeschool moms need one more person telling them everything they're doing wrong. She believes they need encouragement, practical tools, honest conversations, and someone who understands what it's like to actually live this out.
Whether she is coaching a mom who is overwhelmed by homeschooling, encouraging a family to rethink what education can look like, or speaking to students about who they are and where they are headed, Shannan's heart is the same:
To encourage families to homeschool with confidence, raise children with intention, and create a learning environment where kids can grow academically, personally, spiritually, and relationally.
Shannan lives in Ventura County with her husband, Javier, her love of 33 years and best friend. Together they have two daughters and are now enjoying one of their favorite seasons yet—being grandparents.
